"INSHOU"

The inshou (=stamp) came from China in Nara era.
Since Heian era, Tennou-goryou (the imperial emperor stump) and the Kan-in (government stump) haven been made in Kyoto.
The stump of Kyoto (Kyo-inshou) inherits a style of China and Kan era, when the golden age of making stump.
The stump which has artistic and special importance is based of Kan-inten (a kind of font) and contrast with the style of Shou-ten (in Shin era) based in Tokyo.
Kyo-inshou has these history and heritage, so it is very famous and used in many fields as a traditional craft of Kyoto.
